Berger Expands Online Services for Taxpayers

Berger Funds has struck a marketing agreement with software manufacturer Intuit to provide new tax preparations to investors through its Web site.

The firm will provide Intuit’s TurboTax software online, which will allow users to prepare and file their taxes via the Web. In addition, Berger clients can import their tax information directly into a version of TurboTax that runs locally on home computers.

Berger CEO Jack Thompson said his company decided to offer the service because the public is increasingly looking to file their taxes online. And the service, he said, will make it easier for Berger investors to manage their finances through the company’s Web site, without having to download or install software on their home computers.

The service isn’t free, but the company is offering a 15% discount.
