BNY Mellon Wealth Management Boosts Sales Efforts in Pennsylvania, Washington

BNY Mellon Wealth Management has promoted a managing director to a newly created role overseeing the firm’s sales teams in Pennsylvania and Washington. Garrett Alton, a former managing director of sales for Georgia, was promoted to regional sales manager for Central and Mid-Atlantic U.S. markets.

In his new role, Alton will lead business development efforts and sales teams in both the Central and Mid-Atlantic U.S. regions, reporting to Mid-Atlantic Regional President David Kutch and Central U.S. Regional President Andy Paterson. He will move from Atlanta to Philadelphia for his new position.

Alton’s promotion comes on the heels of two new hires in the firm’s Atlanta office earlier this month. The personnel  change reflects the firm’s ongoing focus on expanding its market share globally and in the Washington D.C./Philadelphia and Central U.S. regions, Susan Rivers, vice president of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at BNY Mellon, said in an email.

Prior to joining BNY Mellon in 2009, Alton was a senior financial advisor focused on business development for Merrill Lynch in Atlanta. And prior to that, he was a senior vice president and regional director for wealth management with Neuberger Berman/Lehman Brothers in the Atlanta, D.C., and Philadelphia markets.

“Garrett has been a tremendous leader during his career at BNY Mellon,” Timothy Tully Jr., president of U.S. Markets East, said in a statement. “He is a tremendous client advocate and has a unique ability to ensure we align the right professionals to each client’s needs.”

BNY Mellon Wealth Management has nearly $178 billion in private client assets and an international network of offices.
