Bargain hunters got back into the mix Tuesday, snapping up shares across all sectors as the Dow Jones Industrial average stormed up 322 points, or 3%, for the day.

Tech stocks were especially popular as the Nasdaq rallied up 100 points, or 4.3%, to finish at 2,446.06 and the S&P 500 gained 38.53 points to close at 1,162.35.

Dow Jones Industrial average:

·         Up 322.11 points, or 2.97%, to 11176.76

·         Up 359.11 points, or 3.32%, over the two-day trading period.

·         Twenty-nine of the 30 component stocks rose, one fell.

·         Today's top contributors to The Dow's movement and their points contribution: IBM (40.41), CVX (30.50), XOM (26.34), CAT (23.39), MMM (20.59).

·         Today's laggard: BAC (-0.91).

·         Traded in positive territory for more than 99 percent of the day.

·         Down 21.09% from its record close of 14164.53 October 09, 2007.

·         Rose 11.32% from 52 weeks ago.

·         Down 12.75% from its 2011 closing high of 12810.54 April 29.

·         Up 4.26% from its 2011 closing low of 10719.94 on August 10.

·         Down 12.75% from its 52 week high of 12810.54 on April 29, 2011.

·         Up 11.93% from its 52 week low of 9985.81 on August 26, 2010.

·         Month-to-date: down 7.96%.
