CDC IXIS Creates New Business Group

Boston-based CDC IXIS Asset Management North America is combining its managed accounts business with its mutual fund businesses to create CDC IXIS Asset Management Advisors Group, the firm said yesterday.

The new group will be headed by John Hailer, president of CDC Nvest Funds, CDC IXIS Asset Management’s family of 27 load funds.

Combining the two business lines will make it easier to market the group’s line of investment products and managers to broker/dealers and financial advisers, Peter Voss, president and CEO of CDC IXIS Asset Management said in a statement. "This will allow us to take a more focused approach to distributing our products and to better leverage the relationships we have built in key distribution channels," he said.

The group’s separate account services include several different strategies managed by affiliate managers.

As part of the move, Matthew Witkos has been named head of the group’s separate account and mutual fund wrap initiatives, reporting directly to Hailer. He will be responsible for building strategic relationships for the firm, the company said. Witkos formerly worked for Forward Asset Management as managing director and national sales director responsible for acquisitions and distribution strategies. Prior to that, Witkos was co-national sales manager for New York-based GE Asset Management.
