Citadel Hires Morgan’s Foreign Exchange Chief

Citadel Investment Group LLC has hired Patrick Edsparr to be its European CEO and global head of fixed income.

Edsparr comes to the hedge fund after serving on J.P. Morgan’s executive committee and serving as head of the bank’s foreign exchange, fixed income, proprietary trading and principal investment business. He had worked for J.P. Morgan since 1996.

Edsparr will head the London office, starting in July.

“As we create opportunities to expand our business on a global scale, our first priority is building high-performance teams and attracting top talent from across the industry,” said Citadel founder and CEO Kenneth Griffin.

Citadel currently manages more than $20 billion in assets.
