Citi Hedge Fund Chief Leaving

Citigroup’s head of hedge fund services, Steve Bowman, has decided to leave the firm, according to a memo from Citi’s James Forese, co-CEO of markets & banking. There is no indication yet of Bowman’s future endeavors.

He will remain with Citi over the coming weeks to help ensure a smooth transition of his responsibilities.

“For over 24 years, Steve has been a great contributor, leader, partner and friend at the firm, most recently where he helped centralize our multiple prime brokerage businesses and helped coordinate hedge fund activities within our securities and fund services unit,” the memo states.

Bowman has worked in a variety of roles at Citi including sales and research management roles in New York and London, as well as having global responsibility for futures and retail trading.

Bowman reported to Paco Ybarra, global co-head of FICC, and Jim Cowles, who oversees the equities products business.
