Combined Assets of Nation's Mutual Funds Increase

According to the Investment Company Institute, the combined assets of the nation's mutual funds increased by $92.6 billion, or 1.1 percent, to $8.216 trillion in June. In the survey, mutual fund companies reported actual assets, sales and redemptions.

Also, stocks, bonds and hybrid funds collectively had a net inflow of $12.21 billion in June as compared to a net inflow of $17.01 billion in May according to the report.

Stock funds posted an inflow of $6.13 billion in June compared to $11.21 billion in May. Hybrid funds posted $2.09 billion in net inflow in June, compared to an inflow of $2.29 billion in May. Bond funds had an inflow of $4.0 billion in June compared to an inflow of $3.51 billion in May. And money market funds had an inflow of 4.09 billion in June, compared with an inflow of $13.77 billion in May according to the report.
