ConvergEx Acquires RealTick Platform from Barclays

ConvergEx is acquiring Barclays Bank’s RealTick global, multi-broker and cross-asset execution platform. Financial terms of the deal, expected to close before the end of the year, were not disclosed.

ConvergEx said that RealTick integrates seamlessly into almost any trading style and offers sophisticated features to simplify traders’ work.

“We chose to acquire RealTick because of its highly scalable technology, proven track record and talented and dedicated staff,” said ConvergEx Chairman and CEO Joseph M. Velli. “The industry is moving rapidly towards consolidating execution management systems, and we believe we can leverage ConverEx’s global footprint to expand RealTick’s multi-broker network to make it the most comprehensive and global offering in the industry.”

RealTick CEO Stuart Breslow added: “This transaction aligns us with a premier technology company with a global reach and a deep client base.”
