Credit Suisse Asset Management, the institutional and mutual fund arm of Credit Suisse First Boston, has named Dennis Schaney, formerly of BlackRock Financial Management, as its global head of fixed income, filling a new position.

"Dennis is a highly skilled fixed income professional with a strong track record of providing value to clients," said CSAM’s global chief executive Michael E. Kenneally. Since March, when Kenneally took over, CSAM has undergone several changes designed to jumpstart portfolio performance.

At BlackRock, where Schaney had worked since 1998, he most recently served as managing director of the firm’s high-yield business. He also served for nine years at Merrill Lynch. The firm said it expects to name a global head of equities later this year.
