Data Hub for Fund Reporting Aimed at European Nations

Two European companies said Wednesday they will work together to market and implement market data services for fund reporting in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

SmartCo, based in Paris, said that Fingance Gmbh, based in Frankfurt, will market its SmartCo Datahub in those countries.

The Datahub allows customers to set parameters on the reference and market data it needs, including from which venues. The settings can vary by country, since each has “very unique and specific business and regulatory requirements that demand a very deep understanding and truly local knowledge,’’ according to Pascal Mougin, CEO of SmartCo.

“To go local, you need to be local,’’ Mougin said.

Fingance’s technical staff has been certified to implement the DataHub. The company, which is integrates information systems for data management and fund reporting for investment managers, also is helping SmartCo localize its hub for use in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Fingance is providing market-specific input in instrument coverage, local data vendor interfaces, position and Transaction module extensions and validation of information, to include German-specific laws, for instance.
