Deutsche Asset Management Hires Shiebler

Deutsche Asset Management has appointed former Putnam Mutual Funds CEO William Shiebler to oversee its operations in the Americas, the company said today.

As CEO, Shiebler will oversee the division’s asset management strategy, including the combined Deutsche Asset Management and Scudder Investments retail and institutional businesses. Deutsche Bank agreed to acquire Scudder Investments in Sept. of last year for $2.5 billion.

Shiebler spent a decade at Putnam Investments. Before that, he worked at Dean Witter Reynolds for 12 years and served as COO the firm’s mutual fund management division, known as InterCapital.
