Diversified Management Resources, best known as an executive search firm, will merge next month with The Drachman Group, a marketing communications firm.
Founded in 1987, DMR also runs an online career center, and, in partnership with the National Investment Company Service Association, offers compliance research. Drachman, which was founded in 2001, has worked with a number of leading mutual fund and brokerage companies, including Fidelity Institutional Brokerage Group, Frank Russell, State Street Global Advisors and Prudential Investments.
The merger is a reunion of sorts for Charlie O'Neill, DMR principal, and John Drachman, principal of his eponymous firm. The two worked together for seven years at Putnam Investments, where they launched dozens of products and oversaw marketing and communications campaigns.
"The day of the 'one size fits all' approach is over," O'Neill said. "Money managers want greater flexibility in how they solve marketing problems. Merging our two organizations together will create some exciting new synergies."
Drachman added: "Money managers like the fact we speak their language."
