Dole is Out From National Retirement Planning Week

Last year, the National Retirement Planning Coalition kicked off its first National Retirement Planning Week campaign with former senator Bob Dole as honorary chairperson. On November 17, Ben Stein assumes the mantle for the coming year.

"This year, our goal is to take it a step further by providing specific guidance to help Americans overcome many of the challenges they will face not only in the retirement planning process, but also during their retirement years. The coalition has identified a number of risks that may very well determine the quality of our retirement years, and plans to show in a readily understandable way how people can protect against these risks and ensure financial security," Stein said.

Ben Stein is most broadly known for his television and movie appearances, including his role as an acerbic economics teacher in the 1986 movie "Ferris Beuller’s Day Off." He also hosted the TV quiz show "Win Ben Stein’s Money," which pitted contestants against the host.

However, Stein also served a stint at the Federal Trade Commission as a trial lawyer and taught as an adjunct professor at a number of different universities. He coauthored a book entitled "Yes, You Can Time the Market!" that was published this year.
