Dalbar has awarded a dozen fund complexes its Mutual Fund Service Award, the firm said this week.

Each year, Dalbar, which rates and researches customer service at financial companies, selects fund complexes that offer "the highest tier of service to shareholders." The findings are based on a program in which Dalbar opens mutual fund accounts at 49 companies. It then monitors the quality of those firms’ services, including the competence of telephone representatives.

This year’s recipients include: Alger Funds, Evergreen Funds, Guardian Investor Services, INVESCO Funds, JP Morgan Funds, Lord, Abbett & Co., Bank of America’s Nations Funds, New York Life Investment Management Service Co., One Group Mutual Funds, Putnam Investments, State Street Research and Wells Fargo Funds.
