(Bloomberg) -- Eaton Vance Corp., the money manager known for its focus on tax-efficient investing, appointed Goldman Sachs Group Inc. executive Edward J. Perkin as chief equity investment officer.

Perkin, former chief investment officer for international and emerging markets equity at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, replaces Duncan W. Richardson, who retired in October after 26 years with Eaton Vance, the Boston-based firm said today in a statement. Perkin will join April 29 and report to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Thomas E. Faust Jr.
