Enterprise Capital Management Launches Offshore Funds

Firm Will Offer Clones of Eight of Its Sub-Advised Funds

Enterprise Capital Management has launched a mutual fund company in Dublin, Ireland: Enterprise Global Funds plc. The firm will start by marketing clones of eight of its funds in Europe, specifically focusing on England and Italy. The funds will be available in U.S. dollars, the British pound, and the euro.

'We're just taking our U.S. funds that we sell here and taking it (international),' said Victor Ugolyn, chairman, president, and CEO at Enterprise. 'We're really looking at the European community. I'd say that Italy and England are high on our list.'

Enterprise will eventually distribute its offshore funds in South America and Asia as well.

While Ugolyn was unable to provide specifics on the firm's plans, he did say that Enterprise has distribution deals in the pipeline, specifically with multiple banks and U.S. firms operating internationally that Enterprise already does business with.

Enterprise has also set its sights eastward. 'There is another marketplace that we're going to be going into: the Asian market, Hong Kong specifically,' said Ugolyn. 'There's a reason behind it … we have something presently in the works that will make that more attractive for us.'

While distribution in Hong Kong provides access to the broader Asian market, Ugolyn emphasized that Enterprise is moving forward with a focused marketing scheme. 'Hong Kong is the market that we're looking at,' he said. 'By accessing that area, we're able to access the whole area, but the bottom line is that we're not going to do a shotgun approach.'

The Atlanta-based firm will offer offshore clones of the following U.S. funds: Enterprise Small Company Value Portfolio managed by Gabelli Asset Management Company; Enterprise Equity Portfolio managed by TCW Investment Management Company; Enterprise Growth Portfolio managed by Montag & Caldwell, Inc.; Enterprise Large-Cap Portfolio managed by Nicholas-Applegate Capital Management; Enterprise Global Health Care Portfolio managed by Nicholas-Applegate Capital Management; Enterprise Global Socially Responsive Portfolio managed by Rockefeller & Co., Inc.; Enterprise Internet Portfolio managed by Fred Alger Management, Inc.; and Enterprise Liquidity Portfolio managed by Enterprise Capital Management, Inc.
