Evergreen Investments, the investment management arm of Wachovia Corp., has named Howard Present senior vice president and director of product management. Present replaces Patrick Bannigan, who left Evergreen to join Touchstone Securities.
In his new role, Present will be responsible for overseeing product management, product development and strategy for all of the firm's retail, institutional and alternative products as well as Evergreen's mergers and acquisitions practices. He will report to Evergreen COO Doug Munn.
Present was previously managing director of corporate product management and development at Putnam Investments. In that role he also served as chairman of Putnam's product development group and liquidity monitoring team. Prior to that, Present served as Putnam's director of retail product management.
