Fidelity Investments has announced the appointment of Chuck Black as senior vice president in charge of the company's investment and benefits outsourcing consultant relations group.

Black has worked at Fidelity for seven years, most recently in charge of Fidelity's relationships with benefits outsourcing consultants involved in searches for administrators of defined contribution, defined benefit and health and welfare plans, as well as of human resources, payroll services and investment-only services for defined contribution plans.

Bill Carey, the president of Fidelity Institutional Retirement Services, said Black's appointment is part of the unit's effort to expand in response to the growing importance of consultants in investment-only, full-service retirement plans.

Black is to expand his group in the coming months and is actively recruiting for his staff, the company said.
