GAM has hired Craig Brownell as director, institutional, a job in which he will be responsible for development of the firm's institutional business.
"We are seeing increasing demand from institutions for funds-of-hedge funds as a component of their portfolios," noted Dave Anderson, managing director, clients in the Americas at GAM. "Craig brings extensive experience in client portfolio management that will enhance our existing team's strengths and directly benefit our clients."
Prior to joining GAM, Brownell was senior vice president, director of core strategies and a client portfolio manager at Franklin Templeton Investments/Fiduciary Trust International. Before that, he served in a number of senior executive positions at Pimco Advisors and Sanford C. Bernstein & Co.
