Saying it is still not even close to being finished in its national sales force expansion, Lord Abbett & Co. hired S. Chris Fiacco to its sales group.
Before agreeing to join Jersey City, N.J.-based Lord Abbett, Fiacco worked as a regional wholesaler for the Mid-Atlantic region for Blackrock Funds. In a two-year period there, Fiacco took a once-fledgling region to No. 2 overall among Blackrock regions, thanks to his marketing of the company's open-ended mutual funds, according to a release from the firm. At Lord Abbett, Fiacco will be diving right back into the same region, working in Baltimore and the surrounding area.
Fiacco's path to this field was a little different than most. Prior to Blackrock, he served as an officer for a non-financial institution: The U.S. Marine Corps. Prior to that, he graduated from Worcester State College with a bachelor's in biology.
Lord Abbett Director of National Sales Bob Noelke said the company is still looking to expand its sales force throughout the rest of the country, including in the Northeast, Midwest, Southeast and West.
