Executive Move- Pisarkiewicz Joins BONY As Executive Vice President

Bank of New York has named Steven Pisarkiewicz executive vice president and head of its investment branch BNY Asset Management.

Pisarkiewicz joins the bank from AllianceBernstein, where he served as chief investment officer of structured equity services, senior portfolio manager and a member of the investment policy group for value equities. Prior to that, he was managing director for Bernstein's private client and institutional asset management businesses. He will report to Thomas Renyi, Bank of New York's chairman and chief executive.

The move coincides with the planned retirement of Newton Merrill, the bank's senior executive vice president for asset management and private client services, who will step down May 31.
