Brett H. Wander has joined State Street Research & Management Co. as head of the market-based strategies group for fixed-income business, a new position at the firm. He will report to Mark Marinella, chief investment officer of fixed income.
In his new post, Wander is head of a team of five portfolio managers and analysts who oversee $15 billion of fixed-income assets employing core, intermediate duration and short duration strategies.
"Brett's depth of knowledge in fixed income and proven leadership capabilities make him an ideal person to lead this team of very talented investment professionals," Marinella said. "His expertise will significantly enhance the top-down portfolio management style critical to the success of these portfolio strategies."
Wander previously worked for Analytic Investors as chief investment strategist. Before that, he was a senior vice president with Payden & Rygel and a senior portfolio manager for Mellon Capital Management.
