UMB Promotes Macdonald, Outridge to EVP, COO

UMB Fund Services has promoted Lonnie Macdonald to executive vice president and director of business development and Richard Outridge to chief operating officer of its hedge fund and alternative investment servicing division, JP Clark & Co.

Macdonald, a 20-year veteran of the financial services industry, joined UMB in 2007 as senior vice president and manager of business development, and has successfully expanded the company's product offerings, including the acquisition of JP Clark.

"Lon has brought tremendous value to our organization," said John Zader, chief executive officer of UMBFS. "He has substantially improved our business development and marketing efforts and identified acquisition and growth opportunities for UMBFS. As he continues to work to build our brand and reputation in the fund servicing marketplace as a premier provider of high-quality services, we are pleased to recognize his contributions with this promotion."

Before joining the company, Macdonald was head of business development for GCom2 Solutions. He also spent five years in management consulting, as managing director at Access Data, as senior vice president and managing partner at Atlantic Research and Consulting, as vice president on the distribution services team at BISYS Fund Services and as an operations manager for Fidelity Investments.

Outridge, who now reports to Zader, has been charged with building a suite of middle-office services for alternative investments by the third quarter of this year. Before joining UMBFS two years ago, Outridge was a managing director at PNC Global Investment Servicing, fund accounting director at GlobeOp Financial Serivces, chief financial officer for Refco Capital Markets and a risk manager and controller at Svenska Handelsbanken.
