Ivy Asset Management, a division of The Bank of New York, has appointed Sean Simon and Michael Singer as co-presidents and named Lawrence Simon and Howard Wohl, the firm's co-founders, vice chairmen. Meanwhile, Ivy has also promoted Adam Geiger to chief investment officer.

The new co-presidents will be responsible for establishing the firm's strategic plan and managing the business. Simon will oversee Ivy's global client relationship development and servicing, while Singer will oversee finance, compliance, information technology, human resources and administration.

Geiger will be in charge of the global investment team and will oversee manager research and selection, portfolio management, operational due diligence and risk management. He is also responsible for the firm's investment philosophy, portfolio strategy and asset allocation.

"Sean and Michael's appointments and our new CIO represent an important step in our strategic development and are designed to ensure succession and continuity at Ivy," Lawrence Simon said. "These three executives have served on our strategic operating committee over the past year, managing the day-to-day operations of the firm."

"Under Larry and Howard's leadership, Ivy has exceeded our expectations, and we are grateful for their dedication and continued commitment to the firm," said Steven Pisarkiewicz, executive vice president of The Bank of New York. "Sean and Michael have the experience and industry insight needed to further advance Ivy's record of success. Ivy is an important component of our growing investment management business and is strategically important to The Bank of New York."

Previously, Sean Simon was head of global client development at Ivy and was head of equity research for Credit Suisse First Boston. Singer was previously chief administrative officer at Ivy, and before joining the firm, he was with Weiss, Peck & Greer. Geiger joined Ivy in 1997 as global head of investments, and before that, he spent seven years with Twenty-First Securities.
