ICI Names Grohowski, Burstein Senior Counsels; Lancellotta Moves to IDC

The Investment Company Institute and its related body, the Independent Directors Council, recently made new appointments.

Robert C. Grohowski and Ari Burstein are now senior counsels in ICI's securities regulation practice. Grohowski is in charge of the investment companies group, where he will oversee issues related to the Investment Company Act and the Investment Advisors Act, while Burstein is in charge of the capital markets group, overseeing issues related to the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. Both report to ICI General Counsel Elizabeth Krentzman.

Grohowski joined the ICI in 1998 and will continue to serve as senior counsel, international affairs, on an interim basis until a successor is appointed. Burstein, who also joined the ICI in 1998, most recently was senior associate counsel, securities regulation.

In their new jobs, the two attorneys fill the role previously held by Amy B.R. Lancellotta, who is now managing director of the Independent Directors Council. Lancellotta succeeds Tamara K. Salmon, who had served as managing director of the IDC on an interim basis since July and is now returning to her previous role as senior associate counsel at the ICI.

Marguerite Bateman, the previous managing director of the IDC, is now a partner in the financial services group at Sutherland Asbill & Brennan.
