SEC Selects Greenberg for Philadelphia District Post
The Securities and Exchange Commission has appointed Elaine C. Greenberg associate district administrator for enforcement in its Philadelphia district office, overseeing the Mid-Atlantic region. She succeeds Daniel M. Hawke, who was promoted to district administrator of the office last April.
During Greenberg's 19 years at the SEC, she has participated in a number of groundbreaking cases involving insider trading, accounting fraud and conflicts of interest, including mutual funds' shelf-space and revenue-sharing payments to brokerage firms. Greenberg joined the SEC in 1987 as an enforcement staff attorney and subsequently served as the branch chief of the Philadelphia office until January 2001, when she became an assistant district administrator for that office's enforcement program.
Zader Joins UMB as COO
John Zader has joined UMB Investment Services Group, a division of UMB Financial, as chief operating officer, reporting to Peter deSilva, chairman of UMB Fund Services and president and COO of UMB Financial.
Zader previously was with the mutual fund division of Jefferson Wells International. Before that, he was senior vice president and chief financial officer at U.S. Bancorp Fund Services.
Revoir Promoted to SVP, Distribution at Hancock
George Revoir has accepted the job of senior vice president, distribution for John Hancock Retirement Plan Services, a promotion from regional vice president in Connecticut, a job he held for more than a decade. He now reports to National Sales Executive Vice President Jim Brockelman.
"I'm very pleased that George has accepted this position," Brockelman said. "He is well respected for both his long-term sales leadership and his deep industry knowledge. For many years, he has been a key member of our field sales investment, product and marketing committees. He possesses a profound understanding of selling through intermediaries."
Lipper Promotes Several to Boost Research Capabilities
On the heels of hiring Dr. Gabriel Burstein as global head of research, Lipper has promoted a number of executives in its research division.
Andrew Clark, previously senior research analyst, is now head of research for Lipper Americas. Reporting to Clark in Denver are Hank Turowski and Heesuk Jang, quantitative and methodology research analysts, and Dr. Mark Labovitz, research and development analyst.
In Singapore, reporting to Head of Asia Research Kenneth Koh is Nathaniel Chua, as senior research analyst.
Meanwhile, in Rome, Aureliano Gentilini has a new position at the company as global head of hedge fund research. Ferenc Sanderson has become senior research analyst, covering both hedge funds and mutual funds.
To develop a new multi-asset research product, Marc Gerstein and Ashwani Kaul are now multi-asset research analysts. Gerstein was previously director of investment research at Multex and Kaul was senior market analytics research and attribution analyst at Reuters Estimates.
