Janus CFO, Counsel Plan To Step Down in March

Janus announced that both Dave Martin, the company's chief financial officer, and John Bluher, general counsel, will leave March 2. Janus said their departures are unrelated.

Senior Vice President and Comptroller Greg Frost will replace Martin, who plans to work outside of Denver.

Kelley Howes, currently senior vice president and general counsel at Janus, will replace Bluher.

Janus Capital Group CEO Gary Black noted that the company is in good shape, having repurchasd more than 25 million shares of its stock last year.

T. Rowe Price Taps Huber For Fixed Income Position

T. Rowe Price has hired Steven C. Huber as senior portfolio specialist in its fixed income division. Besides contributing to the investment process, Huber's position requires him to help develop new fixed income products. He comes to the firm from the Maryland State Retirement and Pension System, where he was chief investment officer between 2003 and 2006, overseeing $34 billion in assets. Before that, Huber was director of fixed income at Aeltus Investment Management, a subsidiary of ING, where he managed $30 billion in assets. Huber first joined Aeltus as a portfolio manager for multi-sector institutional and retail fixed income portfolios, later being promoted to head of asset allocation/quantitative strategy.

"His experience as both a portfolio manager and manager of a public pension fund, combined with his extensive quantitative and actuarial background, will be a tremendous asset to the firm and our clients."

Chapman Selects Foundos, Morrison to Lead Practice

Chapman and Cutler has promoted Felice Foundos and Morrison Warren to serve as co-chairs of its investment company practice.

Both were previously corporate and securities attorneys at the firm. Before joining Chapman in 1996, Foundos was a senior attorney in the division of investment management at the Securities and Exchange Commission. Warren was associate counsel at Nuveen Investments before he joined Chapman in 1997.

McEldowney Now Part of Northern Trust Value Team

Northern Trust Global Investments has selected Douglas McEldowney to serve as a senior portfolio manager on its large-cap value equity team.

McEldowney, who has 24 years of experience in the financial services industry, comes to Northern Trust from Templeton Portfolio Advisors, where he managed high-net-worth and institutional accounts. Before that, he was a portfolio manager at Invesco Funds Group and at Bank of America Investment Management.

"We are thrilled that Doug is joining our team," said Robin Kollannur, the team's chief investment officer. "He brings a wealth of experience and a broad base of skills in portfolio management.
