RS Investments Promotes Davis to Portfolio Manager

MacKenzie Davis, who has been at RS Investments since March 2004, has been promoted from analyst of the RS Global Natural Resources Fund to a co-portfolio manager of the fund, a position that will have him working alongside Andy Pilara. Davis came to RS Investments from Fidelity Management & Research Co., where he served as a high-yield analyst. Before that, he worked as a vice president at Fidelity Capital Markets and as an analyst for Goldman Sachs.

"In addition to being passionate about his work, MacKenzie has demonstrated excellent investment judgment and strong analytical capability for our value team," said Pilara, who also serves as president of the RS Value Group.

American AAdvantage Taps Youngblood as Chair

Kneeland Youngblood, already a member of several high-profile companies' boards, has been named chairman of the board of the American AAdvantage Funds. The move marks yet another instance in which a fund company has elected an independent chairman to comply with new Securities and Exchange Commission regulations ahead of the Jan. 16, 2006 deadline.

Youngblood, the co-founder of the private equity firm Pharos Capital Group, serves on the boards of Starwood Hotel & Resorts Worldwide and Burger King Corp. Since 1995, he has been a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. During the Clinton Administration, Youngblood served on the board of directors at the United States Enrichment Corp., which provides nuclear fuel for companies wanting to use nuclear power.

Deutsche Private Wealth Hires Spoor as Director

Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management has named W. Todd Spoor as director and wealth adviser for the company's Boston office. In his new position, Spoor will work with high-net-worth clients. In his more than 20 years of working in the industry, Spoor most recently served as a high-net-worth relationship manager for JPMorgan Chase. He has also worked at Bank of New England, First National Bank and South Shore Bank.

"Todd has an impressive track record of attracting and working successfully with entrepreneurs, senior corporate executives and other high-net-worth clients," said Michael Duca, Deutsche's head of private wealth management in the Boston office, to whom Spoor will report.

Mercer Reorganizes Execs Into Two Consulting Units

To prepare for the retirement of President Peter Coster after 40 years of service, Mercer has restructured its consulting business. Brian M. Storms, now a vice president of the company's human resource consulting, will head up the human resource consulting side of the company, while David J. Morrison, president and chief executive of Mercer Management Consulting, will head up the company's specialty consulting businesses.

Courville To Head Up State Street Canada

State Street Corp.'s 15-year-old Canadian operation has promoted Jean-Francois Courville to head up all of State Street Canada.

Courville came to the company in 1996 to establish currency sales and risk management operations. In 2000, he took over the Canadian side of State Street Global Markets, the company's investment research and trading wing.
