Wilmington Trust Selects Gaynor, Urbon as Advisers

Wilmington Trust has hired Peter M. Gaynor and Mark A. Urbon as wealth advisers serving high-net-worth clients in southeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey. Gaynor's title is investment adviser, and Urbon's is private client adviser.

The two have worked together before, when both were with Wachovia Wealth Management. Gaynor most recently was a portfolio manager at Evergreen Asset Management. Earlier in his career, he worked at Wilmington Trust. Urbon joins Wilmington Trust from Wachovia, where he was a financial adviser.

"Peter and Mark are terrific additions to our experienced group of wealth advisers," said Mark Graham, head of Wilmington's operations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Dreyfus Promotes Eggers To Chief Executive Officer; Little Becomes Chairman

Mellon Financial's Dreyfus subsidiary has promoted Thomas F. Eggers from chief operating officer and president to chief executive officer and Jon Little from CEO of Mellon Global Investments to Dreyfus chairman.

The two are succeeding Steve Canter, who is retiring. The promotions take effect Dec. 31.

Patrice Kozlowski, a spokeswoman for the firm, said the changes have nothing to do with the merger between Mellon and The Bank of New York.

Eggers became Dreyfus' chief operating officer in April; he had rejoined the company a year earlier as its president, a job he had held from October 2001 through May 2002. He left at that time to become president and CEO of Scudder Investments.

Little will remain co-chairman of Mellon International, which he joined in July 2000. Before that, he was head of sales and distribution for JPMorgan Investment Management's international fund and sub-advisory businesses outside the U.S.

Evergreen Makes Taylor President of SMA Division

Evergreen Investments has hired Bill C. Taylor as president of managed assets, a newly created position at the company. Taylor now reports to Peter Cieszko, Evergreen's president of global distribution.

He joins the firm from MFS Investment Management, where he was director of the private portfolio management, investment adviser and bank trust lines of business. Before that, he was with Alliance Capital, first as a regional vice president and then as national sales and marketing director.

Abbott Becomes CEO of Robeco Hedge Fund Unit

Robeco Group has named Michael Abbott chief executive officer of Robeco-Sage Capital, its subsidiary that runs hedge funds-of-funds. He replaces Ron Tauber, who will remain a consultant at Robeco-Sage along with the firm's other co-founders, Bob Friedman and Peter Levy.

Abbott comes to the firm from Elysium Capital, a hedge fund that he founded. Previously, he worked in the convertibles and structured products groups at Goldman Sachs. Earlier in his career, he had stints at O'Connor Partners and Swiss Bank.
