On April 29, 2003, Northern Trust acquired Legacy South, an Atlanta-based private wealth management firm with approximately $300 million in managed assets. The acquisition marked Northern Trust's personal financial service entry in the Atlanta market.

"Bob and the entire Atlanta team are deeply committed to exceeding expectations by providing clients with our personalized, high-touch care and our broad array of trust and investment management products and services," said Morrison.

Legacy South's three founding principals, Phillip Larkins, John Viani and John Oglesby, and principal Alison Johnston joined Northern Trust as vice presidents and portfolio managers.
