Fidelity Investments has launched its first international high-yield fund, the Fidelity Global High Income Fund.

The fund will invest in four areas: U.S., European and Asian high yield and emerging markets debt.

Fidelity said it was launching the fund to meet the growing demand for diverse sources of income.

“Our clients have told us they are looking for more income-producing and global investments,” said Brian B. Hogan, president of the equity group at Fidelity. “We have been following the global high-yield and emerging markets very closely for a number of years and, combined, we believe they continue to offer one of the most attractive long-term risk/reward profiles when compared to other asset classes. This new fund offers investors an opportunity to participate in these markets, while diversifying the income component of their portfolios.”
