Fidelity teaming with Bell South

Through an agreement with BellSouth Wireless Data, Fidelity is offering heavy traders - those who make at least 36 trades per day - a pager service that will allow them to not only receive market information but to also execute trades.

The program is an addition to the InstantBroker service that Fidelity introduced in October. That service allows brokerage clients to receive market quotes and account balances via their pager.

Now, those clients who buy or rent an Inter@active Pager 950 through BellSouth can execute trades. The service costs about $50. Fidelity is not the first brokerage to offer this service, a Fidelity spokesperson said.

Fidelity will run print advertisements to market the service.
