FirstMerit Bank Names JPM Veteran to Lead Wealth Unit

FirstMerit Bank has named Michael Robinson executive vice president, Wealth Management Services. Robinson comes from JPMorgan Chase, where he held a number of leadership roles in the wealth management business, according to FirstMerit.

In his new post, Robinson will be responsible for all aspects of the Wealth Management Services unit, including private banking. He will report directly to Paul Greig, chairman and CEO of the Akron, Ohio-based regional bank.

"We look to [Robinson] to bring leadership and expertise to our Wealth business, challenging us to new levels of service for our clients," Greig said in a statement.

FirstMerit has assets of $14.6 billion and 205 branches in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Illinois.
