Forward Launches Long/Short Credit Analysis Fund

Forward Management has launched the Forward Long/Short Credit Analysis Fund. A fixed-income fund that seeks to maximize total rate of return and minimize investment risk, it will use a credit-based, relative value investment strategy. Specifically, it will screen a range of fixed-income investment sectors looking for undervalued and overlooked investment opportunities, as well as execute arbitrage strategies.

“The fund is the first of its kind for mutual funds, and it employs many of the investment strategies used by hedge funds to generate total returns, within the structure of a mutual fund,” said Alan Reid, Jr., president of Forward Management. At the same time, it offers many of the benefits of a mutual fund, including transparency, liquidity and simplified tax reporting.

Cedar Ridge Partners will act as sub-advisor for the fund, with Alan Hart and Guy Benstead serving as portfolio managers.
