Gross Preps EM Bond Fund

PIMCO is looking to launch an emerging markets bond fund sometime in the first quarter of 2013.

According to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing, the fund, dubbed the PIMCO Emerging Markets Full Spectrum Bond Fund, will bet on emerging markets fixed income instruments. The fund will have the freedom to bet on securities denominated in foreign currencies and in U.S. dollar-denominated securities of foreign issuers as well as both investment-grade and junk bonds.

The fund's benchmark index is a blend of 50% JPMorgan Global Bond Index Emerging Markets- Global Diversified, 25% JPMorgan Emerging Markets Bond Index Global and 25% JPMorgan Corporate Emerging Market Bond Index Diversified (the "Benchmark").

The PIMCO Emerging Markets Full Spectrum Bond Fund’s fees and portfolio managers were not disclosed in the filing.
