Hartford Adds Software to Simplify Annuity Sales

Platform Allows Reps to Complete Applications Online

Hartford Life of Simsbury, Conn. has added a new software program designed to make it easier for the firm's 1,700 broker/dealers to sell its line of annuity products, the company announced yesterday.

The new software streamlines the sales process by putting all of the paperwork needed to sell Hartford's annuities onto an electronic platform, according to Melissa Daly, a company spokesperson. The program guides representatives through the application process and insures that they have all of the necessary information, eliminating several steps in the sales process.

The firm is also planning on launching a new Web site designed specifically for independent brokers, Daly said. The site will offer brokers and sales materials and account information, she said.

Hartford is adding the service through a partnership with AnnuityNet, Inc., a software company based in Leesburg, Va.

Hartford Life is the third largest life insurance group in the U.S. based on asset size and is a part of the Hartford Financial Services Group.
