Hutchens, New Leaf Merge

Hutchens Investment Management has merged with New Leaf Asset Management, with New Leaf executives Fletcher Cole and Carrie Bossi joining the Hutchens team.

The two asset managers said their different investment styles—Hutchens being a growth-oriented fundamental shop and New Leaf value-oriented—would complement one another.

Cole is rejoining Hutchens, where he served between 1997 and 2001 as director of research and mid-cap portfolio manager. He will once again oversee research, with Bossi reporting to him. Earlier, Cole worked for Gabelli and E.R. Taylor Investments.

“Fletcher’s style complements our growth-oriented bent and is well-suited for today’s challenging market environment,” said William Hutchens, founder of the firm bearing his name. “We see great cross-pollination potential as we share thoughts on stocks, economic themes and investment ideas, and are committed to providing the highest-quality investment services to our institutional and high-net-worth clients.”
