ICI President Welcomes Cox as Head of SEC

Paul Schott Stevens, president of the Investment Company Institute (ICI), warmly greeted the nomination of Rep. Christopher Cox nomination the new Chairman of the Securities and the Exchange Commission.

"He would provide strong direction for the SEC in its vital mission of protecting investors and overseeing out capital markets," Stevens said.

Schott Stevens expressed his approval of the nominee in statement issued by the ICI the same day the White House announced the potential appointment.  Stevens underlined Cox's vast experience in public service as a Congressman and White House council in President Reagan's administration, as well as in private law practice.
