Idex Seeks to Reorganize Several Funds

Idex Mutual Funds is asking shareholder for permission to reorganize several of its funds, merging several and eliminating the name Janus from many of the funds, Dow Jones reports.

In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the firm said it wants to merge the IDEX PBHG Mid Cap Growth fund with the IDEX Transamerica Growth Opportunities fund, and the IDEX Templeton Great Companies Global fund with the IDEX Janus Global fund. If approved, the new fund will be called the IDEX Templeton Great Companies Global fund. Templeton Investment Counsel and Great Companies will serves as co-subadvisors.

The firm is also asking to combine the IDEX Janus Growth & Income fund with the IDEX Janus Balanced fund, renaming it the IDEX Transamerica Balanced fund. Transamerica would be the subadvisor.

Additionally, the IDEX Alger Aggressive Growth fund would be combined with the

IDEX Transamerica Equity fund, while the IDEX LKCM Strategic Total Return fund would be consolidated into the IDEX Transamerica Value Balanced fund.

Shareholders will be notified of a meeting time and date later.
