State Street Research & Management Company of Boston has named five new people to its institutional sales and client service team. Jared Synnestvedt was named vice president of institutional sales. Most recently, Synnestvedt was director of sales for MetLife Investment Partners of New York. Daniel O'Connor joins as assistant vice president of sub-advisory wholesaling. Previously, O'Connor was director of sales at Lavastorm of Waltham, Mass.

Jon Wagenseller was named senior vice president of State Street's institutional client service group. Wagneseller comes to State Street from MetLife, where he was head of new product development. David Lafferty joins as vice president and client service officer. Most recently, Lafferty was senior investment strategist at MetLife. Stephen Loizeaux was named vice president of Taft-Hartley sales. Previously, Loizeaux oversaw Taft-Hartley sales, also at MetLife.

Bruce Speca has been named senior managing director and head of marketing for Pioneer Investment Management of Boston. Speca came to Pioneer from mutualfunds.com, a website he founded in 1999. Before that, he spent fifteen years with New England Funds of Boston, now Nvest Funds, most recently as president and CEO.
