The Charles Schwab Corporation of San Francisco has promoted five executives to vice chairman and promoted a sixth to chief financial officer. Those with the added title of vice chairman include John Philip Coghlan, enterprise president of services for investment managers and retirement services; Linnet Deily, president, Schwab retail group; Lon Gorman, enterprise president for capital markets and trading; Dawn Lepore, chief information officer; and Steven Scheid, executive vice president of mutual funds, consumer products, finance, brokerage operations, and corporate services. Christopher Dodds has also been promoted from executive vice president of finance to chief financial officer.
Delaware Investments of Philadelphia has hired Steven Sorenson as senior vice president and director for the independent/planner division. Sorenson will be responsible for strategic planning, account relationships and sales management for Delaware Distributors LP, the retail sales arm of Delaware Investments. Before joining Delaware, Sorenson was involved with developing the fee-based advisor channel at VanKampen of Oak Brook Terrace, Ill.
Liberty Funds Distributor of Boston has named Susan L. Torrisi vice president and regional sales director. Torrisi will work with financial planners and insurance agents in New Jersey. Torrisi was with OppenheimerFunds of New York, before joining Liberty Funds Distributor.
