Former Wirehouse Manager Joins Baird

Baird hired a veteran manager away from Wells Fargo, the regional firm said.

Alex Bigelow will work as a branch director overseeing six Baird wealth management offices in Florida, the firm said. Bigelow, who has worked in the industry for 34 years, works from Baird’s office in Palm Beach Gardens, according to Baird.

“Alex is a talented, highly experienced veteran of the financial services industry, and we’re excited to have him leading our efforts to grow Baird’s presence in the Florida market,” said John Mabee, vice chairman for Baird’s Private Wealth Management business.

Bigelow's career, which began with Paine, Webber, Jackson & Curtis in 1981, includes more than 16 years with A.G. Edwards before the firm was acquired by Wells Fargo in 2008, according to FINRA BrokerCheck records. He stayed on with Wells until his move to Baird, BrokerCheck records show.

Bigelow also previously was president of the Florida Securities Dealers Association and a former board member of the Florida Economic Council, according to Baird.
