Institutional Web Sites Improving, But Still Need Work

Content offerings among institutional asset management Web sites remain limited, despite some improvements since 2001, according to a yet-to-be released kasina study.

Contact and background information is much more readily available now than in 2001, according to the white paper. Portfolio managers’ bios are available on the 63% of the sites, up from 29% two years ago. Contact info is easily accessible on 91% of the sites, versus 64% in 2001.

However, usability is another story. Only 42% of sites provide investors with access to accounts online, and less than 10% of the sites offer transactional capability.

The white paper, which investigated the sites of global firms with institutional assets of at least $10 billion, is set for release in June.
