INVESCO Funds Group has promoted Laura Parsons from VP of public relations to senior VP of corporate affairs. The new title will not affect Parson's responsibilities, but reflects changes to the structure of INVESCO's public relations unit, according to Ray Cunningham, president of INVESCO Funds.
Parsons originally dealt primarily with the media. She then took on the responsibility of dealing with community relations and sponsorships, according to Cunningham. The public relations department has become part of the company's corporate affairs unit, which now encompasses public relations policy, community relations and sponsorships, corporate and product publicity, investment management relations and government relations.
Before joining INVESCO, Parsons managed marketing and advertising for Boettcher & Co., which has become First Union Securities. She is a member of the Investment Company Institute's public information committee and serves on the board of the Mutual Fund Education Alliance.
INVESCO Funds Group has also promoted four other individuals to senior VP in different areas of the company. Stacie Cowell and John Segner were both named senior VP, portfolio manager; Pat Johnson was named senior VP, head trader; and Gary Ruhl was named senior VP, information technology.
