INVESCO Taps Insurance Channel

INVESCO has gained distribution for two of its sector funds through Midland National Life Insurance Company. Midland will sell INVESCO’s Health Sciences and Financial Services funds through its variable universal life and variable annuities, the company announced today.

INVESCO has been active in increasing distribution through insurance companies’ variable annuities and this deal will give INVESCO distribution through the insurance group’s 10,000 representatives, according to the firm.

INVESCO had approximately $35 billion in assets under management, as of Dec. 31, 2001. The Denver-based firm is a subsidiary of AMVESCAP Plc.
