Saxo Bank announced it has reappointed Steen Jakobsen as its chief economist after leaving the Danish bank in early 2009 where he served as chief investment officer at Limus Capital Partners.
Jakobsen's second tour of duty at Saxo will begin March 17 with a guest-host appearance on CNBC Europe. He will report directly to the bank's senior management group, company officials said.
Jacobsen has more than 20 years of experience in proprietary trading alternative investments and spent nine-plus years with Saxo Bank before leaving for Limus.
He's worked a number of top-flight financial institutions throughout his career including Citibank N.A. Copenhagen, Hafnia Merchant Bank, Chase Manhattan and UBS among others.
Separately, Saxo Bank announced that David Karsbol, who succeeded Jakobsen as the firm's chief economist for the past two years, will move on to join Senior Vice President Christian Kofoed Jakobsen's banking team where he will be responsible for the development of pension and investment products.
