Janus Capital Group Inc. has announced the appointments of three investment management executives to its board of directors.


Timothy Armour, Jeffrey Diermeier and Lawrence Kochard will expand Janus’ board to 14 directors, 12 of whom are independent.


Armour recently retired as managing director of Morningstar after 10 years with the company. He previously served in executive roles at Stein Roe & Farnham’s mutual funds division, Citibank’s retail bank division and General Foods Corporation. After a tour of duty in the Navy, Armour earned his MBA in marketing and international business from Columbia University.


Diermeier is the president and CEO of the global, non-profit CFA Institute, an association of investment professionals. Before that, he spent 29 years with UBS Global Asset Management. He earned his MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
