Janus Bolsters Growing Institutional Business

Former Morgan Stanley manager Carolyn Patton has joined Janus Capital Group, as the Denver-based fund manager seeks to beef up its advisory presence, Financial News reports.

Patton brings 13 years of institutional investment and consultant relationship experience to Janus, which continues its efforts to rebound from the fund industry's late-trading scandal. She will report to John Zimmerman, chief of Janus Institutional Management.

Most recently, she served as head of European consultant relations in Morgan Stanley's investment management unit. She has filled similar roles at Delaware Investments and SEI Investments.

Janus took $1.6 billion in net flows last year, bringing its total assets to $139 billion. At its peak in the 1990s, Janus managed $330 billion.
