Janus Hires New CFO

Janus Funds has named Loren Starr its new CFO, filling a position that has remained vacant since last September 22, when Steve Goodbarn left the firm, according to a company spokeswoman.

Starr, who will begin working with Janus September 28, formerly worked for Putnam Investments as that company's managing director of corporate finance.

He will report to Mark Whiston, Janus' president of retail and institutional services and will oversee the firm's finance, investment and corporate accounting, human resource responsibilities.

Since last September, CFO duties have been filled by Eric Montag, head of corporate planning and finance, Glenn O' Flaharty, treasurer, and Matt Luoma, head of accounting and taxation.

Goodbarn gave no indication of his plans upon his resignation other than to say that he wanted to spend more time with his family, the spokeswoman said.
