Starr, who will begin working with Janus September 28, previously worked for Putnam Investments as that companys managing director of corporate finance.
He will report to Mark Whiston, Janus president of retail and institutional services and will oversee the firms finance, investment and corporate accounting, human resource responsibilities.
The CFO position has been filled since last September by Eric Montag, head of corporate planning and finance, Glenn O Flaharty, treasurer, and Matt Luoma, head of accounting and taxation.
Goodbarn gave no indication of his plans upon his resignation other than to say that he wanted to spend more time with his family, the spokeswoman said.
